«PHANTOM-2» OR CONCERNING COUNTERPRODUCTIVENESS OF FEDERAL AGRICULTURAL POLICY ONCE AGAIN

Abstract

Further to the story lines of his multi-year series of publications on agricultural topics in «Rossiisky Economichesky Journal» (in particular, in furtherance of the key provisions of the article «Phantom of Russian Agricultural Policy» published in No. 4 for 2005) the author suggests an alternative-to-official systems rating of parameters, quality and factors of the current dynamics of all aspects of agricultural production. Then the article provides detailed counterarguments to the ideology of building up grain export, multifaceted and constructive criticism of «State programme of agricultural development and regulation of agricultural product, raw material and food markets for 2013—2020».

SPECIFIC POST-SOVIET SOCIOECONOMIC EVOLUTION OF BALTIC STATES

Abstract

The article continues a series of publications by researchers of the Center for Post-Soviet Studies of IE RAS on socioeconomic evolution of former USSR Republics started in No. 5 of «Rossiisky Economichesky Journal» for 2012 with materials devoted to Ukraine and Belarus. The author elaborates on two theses: (1) the post-soviet market transformation of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia economies proceeded under the generally similar scenarios featuring considerable differences though concerning primarily privatization process and state meddling with business processes; (2) during the global financial crisis the Baltic tigers faced, following the euphoria of the first years of EU membership, challenges questioning the very models of economic development they had chosen.

Abstract

In reviewing a range of factors of the current debt crisis in Western Europe, the authors single out the major one, notably, evolution of internal contradictions of European integration. There are attempts at resolving the contradictions by legislative reforming of EU economic policy, primarily of monetary and fiscal ones.
